With the holiday season upon us, many people are looking for fun things to do. Look no further! Here is a list of some fun holiday events happening this season:

Dayton

North Pole Express Train Ride at LM&M Railroad – Through Dec. 24 (Thurs-Sun)

ALL ABOOOOARD! This Christmas Tradition is back for another year. Before stopping to pick up Santa Claus, the staff will read The Night Before Christmas at the halfway point. Kids will receive a “North Pole Express” souvenir train ticket, and all passengers will be given a souvenir hot chocolate mug.

Virginia Kettering’s Holiday Train Display at the Kettering Tower – Through Jan. 2 (Mon-Fri, 8:30 a.m. – 5:30 p.m.)

 

Come see the unique model train display donated by Mrs. Virginia W. Kettering. Fun for kids of all ages.

 

Timeless Memories of Christmas at La Comedia – Through Dec. 30

Join a cheery family at Christmastime as they flip through their photo album and relive the magic of Christmas in each decade, going as far back as the 1940’s. Featuring beloved traditional Christmas songs and dance routines, this production is a holly-jolly good time for the whole family!

Ice Skating at Riverscape – Through Feb. 28

The region’s largest outdoor ice skating rink is open for the season once again! Skate the 10,500-square-foot rink under the covered pavilion, and then warm up by the fire with some hot chocolate!

The Tikes Shoppe in Downtown Dayton – Through Dec. 23

No moms and dads allowed—you won’t even fit through the door! Set the budget for your kids (items are priced $.50-$14) and let the elves help them make their own shopping decisions. The kids will love it!

Lima

Kids’ Christmas Paint Party at Limabean Arts & Crafts – Friday, Dec. 22 (4-8 p.m.)

The kids will love picking one of the themed paintings in the studio to recreate. They can create special gifts to give to loved ones while you have time to go get some last-minute gifts of your own!

Mannheim Steamroller at Veterans Memorial Civic Center – Friday, Dec. 29 (7:30 p.m.)

Mannheim Steamroller, the American Neoclassical new-age music group founded by Chip Davis that fuses classical music together with new age and rock, will be performing for one night only at the Veterans Memorial Civic Center. Get ready to rock!

Columbus

Wildlights at Columbus Zoo and Aquarium – Now through Jan. 1 (Sun-Thurs 5-9p.m., Fri/Sat 5-10p.m.)

You’ll be mesmerized as you witness the glowing wonderland of millions of LED lights that used to be the Columbus Zoo. Santa will be there to meet the kids at Holiday Village. From there, travel to the North America habitat to see his reindeer!
